Women's Division National Tournament Team (WDNT)
This is the team that represents OREGON at the NATIONAL TOURNAMENT over Memorial Day Weekend each year. It's the biggest college recruiting event of the year. The 2018 National Tournament will be held in Stony Brook, NY at Stony Brook University. In addition the team will get the chance to watch the NCAA women's lacrosse finals at Stony Brook! DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS FRIDAY, APRIL 13TH - NO WALK-UPS ALLOWED
Tryouts: Please make sure you wear a white tee-shirt to tryout with no logos and dark shorts. Do not wear any other item with a school logo on it. Bring all lacrosse gear, appropriate layers for the weather, snacks and water. Please arrive between 11:30-11:45am. Tryouts will consist of approx. 2 hours of a warm-up, stations, running and end with a full length scrimmage. There will be breaks for water and food.
Once the team is selected, more information will follow.
The team will leave on Friday, May 25th and return on Monday, May 28th.
There may be 1-2 practices (this is the only time commitment)
The approximate cost of the trip is $1000-$1200 (this includes everything except food and spending money).
Players can significantly reduce the cost through fundraising that OGLA and the National Team coaches will help with.
Rob Bray (Head Coach):
Rob is originally from Syracuse, New York, where he played for high school powerhouse West Genesee. He graduated from Potsdam College in 1991 and has since gained over 26 years of lacrosse coaching experience. Rob spent 13 years as the Associate Head/Assistant Coach at the University of Oregon and 4 years as Head Coach of the Women’s Lacrosse and Field Hockey teams at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He is the current head coach of Churchill High School in Eugene Oregon as well as the Player Development Coordinator and Portland Program Director for the Tenacity Project.
Sean Hansen (Assistant Coach):
Sean is a native Oregonian, attending Summit High School in Bend. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Redlands in 2010. Sean played lacrosse and ran track for Redlands. After graduation from Redlands, Sean returned to Bend to coach the Bend United Girls team for three years, including two years as head coach. In 2013 Sean then went on to coach at the collegiate level, holding positions at Sierra Nevada College and at LaGrange College of Georgia.
Returning to Oregon in 2016, Sean coached for the Tenacity Project and took the position as Head Coach at Linfield College until early 2018. Sean is currently the Girls Program Director at Lacrosse Northwest.
